| I started studying counselling in 1994 I have a
Certificate in Counselling in Healthcare Level 2 with The Royal
Society of Health. I passed this with a letter of commendation for
the work I had done.
I then went onto achieve a Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling
and Psychotherapy.
I am competent in the following areas:
- Practical psychodynamic counselling
- Client work
- Psychological and sociological aspects of counselling
- Group work
- Counselling ethics and practice
- Advanced psychodynamic theory
- Supervision
I have nine years experience and this includes working for a woman’s
centre as an eclectic counsellor using both psychodynamic and person
centred techniques in accordance with the B.A.C.P. Ethical Framework
for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy.
This work covered many different emotional issues including:

- Self esteem
- Guilt issues
- Sexual abuse
- Depression
- Anxiety
- Divorce recovery
- Sexual addiction
- Childhood trauma
- Parenting issues
As a member of BACP,
I am bound by it's Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling
and Psychotherapy, the Ethical Guidelines for researching Counselling
and Psychotherapy (where practitioners undertake research) and subject
to the Professional Conduct Procedure for the time being in force.
